¿Una revolución en la universidad?

Seguir los enlaces de Michel Bauwens siempre es una garantía de calidad, y en este caso también. La propuesta viene de Dougald Hine y se llama The University Project, en este caso cinco razones para cambiar la universidad.

After a blogpost from Dougald Hine (co-founder of School of Everything, the Dark Mountain Project and Space Makers Agency), a group of us started meeting regularly to talk about these ideas. Start talking publicly about the future of the university and the strength of people’s desire for things to change easily becomes overwhelming. But what we’ve found is that there are also hundreds of projects and experiments going on which share our desire to create new pockets and pathways for the cultivation of knowledge.

Los cinco elementos que destaca para defender esta propuesta son:

1. Algo está pasando: There’s something important coming together around networked technologies and new sociable collaboration spaces, that’s beginning to feel plausible as an alternative home for the spirit of the university.
2. Hub Westminster como oportunidad: There is the potential of a high-profile platform for this emerging culture, in the shape of Hub Westminster.
3. Un sueño: In the longer term, I’m personally interested in creating some kind of “thinkery”,  “a home for a certain kind of learning,” as I wrote before, “led by curiosity, grounded in friendship, engaged with the world, but resisting its pressures, open to surprise, and never simply a means to an end.”
4. La red, la universidad invisible: There’s another strand which has come into focus within the group that formed around the University Project over the past six months. Many of us are conscious of belonging to a kind of “Invisible College” of friends and collaborators…
5. Un curso – Máster en administración de la realidad: what if I offered people a more sustained way to sign up to learn the things I have to teach?
